Mahasenha is an adventure film about a tribal village's fight to save its sacred culture. The story takes place in the hills of Kurangani. Senguttuvan (Vemal) is a tribal man. He loves his village and his traditions. The village worships a special statue of a deity called Yaali and cares for a temple elephant named Sena. For the villagers, these are symbols they are proud of and want to protect. The peace is broken by a greedy forest official named Prathap (John Vijay). He works with a smuggler (Kabir Duhan Singh) to steal the sacred statue during a village festival. During the chaos, the elephant Sena goes missing in the deep forest. Senguttuvan goes on a dangerous journey into the jungle to find his elephant and save the statue. In a subplot, a group of college students is trekking through the forest with their funny guide (Yogi Babu). They accidentally get caught in the middle of the fight between the villagers and the smugglers. How Senguttuvan fights the smugglers and preserves his sacred traditions is the rest of the story. Srushte Dange is the heroine of the movie. The movie shows how Senguttuvan uses his faith and his bond with nature to fight the greedy outsiders.
